Interactive activity
In this activity, the child will first follow a bottle through its journey in the recycling center by watching a video. Then they will visit a digital recycling center where they will sort materials (paper, plastic, aluminum, and glass) into bins.

Independent practice
At the end of the activity, the child will be asked to demonstrate what they learned about recycling by drawing a picture with paper and crayons. The child will choose an item to recycle—like a plastic bottle or a cardboard box—and draw a picture of how they could reuse it.
Knowledge check
Have the child tell you which recyclable item they picked, what it’s made of, and how they could reuse it.
TIPS
- After each child’s attempt, print or save their results. This must be done before you exit to avoid loss of results.
