The child will sort pictures of animals based on their body coverings.
In this activity, the child will first watch a video about reptiles. Then they will look at pictures of animals and sort them into two groups—reptiles and mammals/birds—based on their body covering.
Video made possible by Kentucky Educational Television (KET).
After logging into your CLI Engage account, launch the activity by clicking this button. Type the child’s first name and last initial to begin!
At the end of the activity, the child will be asked to find one animal with fur or feathers, and one animal with scales or bony plates (a reptile), in a book.
Have the child show you the animals they found in the book. Encourage them to tell you which is warm-blooded and which is cold-blooded by looking at the animal’s body covering.
