In this activity, the child will first watch a video about shapes in the environment, like how a roofline makes a triangle. Then they will look at pictures and choose the shape that matches a part of the picture.

Video made possible by Kentucky Educational Television (KET).

After logging into your CLI Engage account, launch the activity by clicking this button. Type the child’s first name and last initial to begin!

LAUNCH ACTIVITY

Independent practice

At the end of the activity, the child will be asked to find shapes in a book. The target shapes are circle, triangle, square, and rectangle.

Knowledge check

Have the child show you the shapes they found in the book. Ask them to name the shapes they found and discuss some of their attributes (sides, corners).

TIPS

  • After each child’s attempt, print or save their results. This must be done before you exit to avoid loss of results.
